Team 1477 - Texas Torque

Every year, high school students from The Woodlands and Oak Ridge, with assistance of industry engineers, gather in a small U-Haul storage room to begin to brainstorm for a new game - given by FIRST, an organization set out to inspire high school students into careers in math, science, technology, and engineering. Hundreds of teams from nearly a dozen countries send their best students and robotic creations to compete in the FIRST Robotics Competition.

The FIRST Robotics Competition isn’t the type of competition you’re used to seeing on television - teams battle with and against each other to fulfill the game’s objective. FIRST is an organization founded to help stimulate students into science, math, engineering, and technology, transforming the United States back into a leader in technical and scientific innovation.
