The Students

Here at Texas Torque, we always strive to increase team membership and participation. Each year, we invite new members to jump in and experience FIRST robotics firsthand. From tours of the lab to hands on workshops, we are always working to engage and excite new members from their very FIRST day. By challenging students on a daily basis, we inspire them to continuously work at their best.

Additionally, we aim to make our students the driving force of our team. Texas Torque is student led and student run. We choose to emulate the structure and function of a business in order to achieve professional-level sustainability and efficiency. In order to ensure that those values remain at the core of the team, we turn students into team leaders. From electrical to outreach, each sub-team has a designated student leader to teach others and maintain a steady flow of knowledge from veterans to rookies.

Students on Texas Torque are primarily from the Woodlands area; however, the team is open to all high school students in the Conroe Independent School District that are interested in making a positive contribution to the team. We currently have students come from the Academy of Science and Technology, The Woodlands College Park HS, The Woodlands HS, Conroe HS, and Grand Oaks HS.
