Texas Torque Wins Bayou Regional

Last week, Texas Torque voyaged to the Bayou Regional in Kenner, Louisiana, placing as the highest seed in the qualifiers and becoming the first seed alliance captain. Together with FRC Teams 624 CRyptonite and 4353 RoBoDawgs, they advanced through the elimination rounds, remaining undefeated and taking home another banner as the Regional Winner. They were also given the Engineering Inspiration Award which recognizes the team’s involvement in the community and dedication to spreading the FIRST message.

Texas Torque Visits Boy Scout Troop 889

The team demonstrated their 2011 robot for around 60 scouts, explaining the various features and systems used and creating an interactive experience for scouts of all ages. Members of Texas Torque volunteered  their knowledge and expertise in conducting the class for the Robotics and Electronics merit badges,  describing in detail the process of building, programming and competing with the robot. Team members will continue to mentor these scouts as they work through other badge requirements in the coming weeks.
